POTW 001: Write to or About your Younger/Future Self

Dear Leelynn,

This will probably sound weird, but this is your future self. Yeah, weird huh? You know how you always read about people writing to their future selves and then they end up reading their letters years later? Well this is the total opposite, and while I can't reveal too much of how it happened, just know that time travel is freaking amazing.

Anyway.

I want you to know that even though you're going through a difficult time right now, you are a strong woman. You may not see it now, hell I remember that I didn't see it when I was in your shoes, but you really are. All of these obstacles that you're going through right now are there to made you the bad ass queen that you really are. That's the kind of woman that you need to be, and you have the makings for it, but you just have to realize it.

Fuck the guys that think they can push you around and make you feel like you're worth less than you really are. You know what I'm talking about, and we don't need to be reminded of this time.  It's still fresh in your mind and your heart because it probably just happened today and you are in pain. This too shall pass. This pain, this hurt, this suffering will pass, and you will be so much better for it.

He's not worth your tears.

He's not worth the depression crashing over you, to the point that you feel like drowning in your own tears so you don't have to feel it again. He is not fucking worth it.

Keep telling yourself this, because you need to realize this

I love you so much, Leelynn. I know I didn't put as much love into us as I should have, but I do. I need to give myself more credit, and so you do. You have no idea just how amazing you really are, and that's mostly my fault for always being so hard on myself. You know how we get, always putting ourselves down and not giving us the credit we deserve. We think that we are always second best, even if maybe we really aren't. But no matter what everyone else thinks, even if they say that we are, we do not need to believe them.

You are worth the world.

You are worth the universe.

You are worth everything.

You are worth so much more than you realize, and I hope that this letter will help you see that.

I love you so much, and I hope that you can start loving yourself too.
